Odyssey Hospice needs volunteers
Odyssey Hospice is looking for volunteers to help give respite time for caregivers so they can get some rest or perhaps keep a doctor's appointment or go to the grocery store or to church. Volunteers are also needed to provide companionship and support to nursing home patients and patients living alone. Volunteers can be very helpful in the office assisting with general office work or special projects.
Volunteers are asked to contribute at least three hours of service a week and to complete a volunteer training. Odyssey serves hospice patients in the Jefferson Parish and Orleans Parish, St. Charles Parish, St. Bernard Parish, St. John the Baptist Parish, St. Tammy Parish and the Belle Chase area.
The volunteer training will take place Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Odyssey HealthCare Office 2800 Veterans Blvd., suite 180 Metairie, LA 70002. For more information please call Joan Ormsby at 504-838-0981.
