Welcome to Tulane!

Your first year at Tulane will be an exciting time full of new friends and new learning experiences.  The Academic Advising Center is here to help you make plans for your education and beyond.  Every student is assigned an academic advisor who can assist you in understanding the many academic opportunities available to students in Newcomb-Tulane College, and the many resources to help you make the most of your Tulane experience.  Be sure to check your Tulane e-mail account for important messages from your academic advisor as your prepare for registration, and throughout your academic career.

Additional Resources

Academic Calendar and Final Examination Schedule -- Review these important dates and deadlines before making travel plans.

AP & IB Credit -- AP scores of 4 or 5, or IB scores of 5 or higher on Higher Level exams, might earn college credit.

E-mail Assistance -- New students should receive their Tulane e-mail and password within two days of paying their deposit.  If you did not receive your e-mail or password information, contact Technology Services at 504-862-8888 for assistance.

Foreign Language Placement -- Fill out the online language placement questionnaire to receive preliminary placement in foreign language courses.

Gibson Online -- Sign in to Gibson and access registration, degree audit, myTulane, and other systems seamlessly, without having to re-enter your password. Class registration, grades, bill payment and financial aid are among the other services available via Gibson.

Goldman Center for Student Accessibility -- Request accommodations and modifications of the academic environment for students with psychological, medical/physical, and learning/developmental disabilities.

Orientation Programs -- Read up on all the events during Orientation, including schedules for students and parents.

Reading Project -- All first-year students participate in the Fall Reading Project.

Transfer Credit for First-Time Freshmen - Information and forms for transferring college credits from other accredited universities to Tulane.

University Catalog -- All official policies of the university, school and department descriptions, requirements for specific majors, and course descriptions are listed in the university catalog.

Information and Videos -- Information and instructional videos to help you work with Tulane University's online course planning and registration systems.
