Why: New Orleans leaders in biotechnology, economic development, business, and government recently visited St Louis, MO, to study the city's approach to developing the biosciences industry. Similarities between St Louis and New Orleans drew the team to the city. The collaborative effort in identifying a model of growth for New Orleans demonstrates local commitment to building infrastructure, attracting venture capital, strengthening partnerships between research institutions and nurturing entrepreneurial bioscience efforts. |
