The J. Bennett Johnston Health and Environmental Research Building (JBJ Building) is a seven story, state-of-the-art facility that houses interdisciplinary research clusters in priority areas of university-wide interest, including Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Biology, Cancer, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Infectious Diseases, Pulmonary Biology, and Health Disparities Research. The 184,000 square foot building is designed to encourage investigator interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration. The ballroom-style laboratories and modular design are configured for flexible reconfiguration as research activities and needs evolve. The research laboratories occupy six floors of the building, and the seventh floor houses a state-of-the-art vivarium.
