Research Compliance and Research Integrity

On behalf of the Vice President for Research, the University Research Compliance Office assists researchers in order to ensure compliance with regulations, university policies, and accreditation standards that are applicable to research activities, including 1) use of human and animal subjects in research, 2) biological safety, 3) pre-award grants administration, 4) export controls, 5) research misconduct, 6) responsible conduct of research training, 7) responding to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, 8) registering and posting research results in www.ClinicalTrials.gov, and 9) use of controlled substances.

Comments, concerns, requests, and reports regarding suspected compliance issues, including research misconduct, may be made by contacting the Research Compliance Office (RCO) at (504) 988-1147 or via e-mail at researchcompliance@tulane.edu.  This phone number and e-mail are answered only by RCO personnel.  When personnel are not available, calls are forwarded to a confidential voice mailbox maintained by the RCO.  Anyone reporting concerns via the phone or e-mail have the right to remain anonymous.  To the extent possible within the limitations of law and regulation, all information will be treated and maintained as confidential.  Any individual may make a complaint in good faith without the fear of reprisal.
