Community Coordination

Community partnerships and outreach are cornerstones of most CBR programs.  Addressing the defining environmental problems of our time requires close collaboration and participation between educational institutions, researchers, decisions makers, industry, community leaders and community members. Community partnerships and participation are key to developing relevant research and effective policy on the environment. This is particularly true here in Louisiana, where the CBR strives to help communities build capacity to address environmental challenges such as coastal restoration, storm events, and environmental hazards.

The CBR has built a rich and expanding portfolio of partnerships with community organizations involved with ongoing and new endeavors.  Some of our current community partners include:

·      The Lower 9th Ward Center for Sustainable Engagement and Development

·       The Meraux Foundation

·      The Lowlander Center
