Mississippi River Observatory - In partnership with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, The Water Institute of the Gulf, and the Audubon Nature Institute, CBR is monitoring water quality in the Mississippi River. The Observatory system comprises three instruments and a computer hub that are mounted to the floating dock at The Riverview (known locally as "The Fly") behind Audubon Zoo. Instruments measure colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM), conductivity, depth, fluorescence, dissolved oxygen, nitrate, oxygen saturation, pH, salinity, temperature and turbidity. Data from the system is available to the general public and researchers around the world through the portal here.
