Tulane University Department of Theatre and Dance proudly presents 'Eurydice' directed by senior BFA student Sarah Beth Schultz and written by Sarah Ruhl. The story follows the classic tale of Orpheus and Eurydice— with a twist. While Orpheus desperately searches for a way to retrieve his bride from the Underworld, Eurydice is given the chance reconnect with her father, reliving tender moments of childhood. Director Schultz says of 'Eurydice,' “It is an exploration in love, loss and the importance of memory...Sarah Ruhl’s take on the classic myth reminds us that a loved one, and the memories of them, remain with you despite life, death and everything in between.”
Eurydice runs January 28th through February 1st at 8pm, with a 2pm matinee on February 2nd. The play features the talents of graduate and undergraduate Tulane University students.
Show is Free with a $5 suggested donation; all proceeds go to the Stevie Kendall Music and Arts Festival in memory of a beloved friend.
