A team from the University of Warwick and the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust (based in Stratford-upon-Avon) will visit the Festival as part of a sixty-day road trip, visiting fourteen Shakespeare-related theatre festivals across America.
The team will give presentations about their work and the work of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust; the organization in Stratford-upon-Avon responsible for the conservation of many of the world’s most important Shakespeare heritage sites.
Rev. Dr. Paul Edmondson, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust’s Head of Research and Knowledge said, “Every year almost three quarters of a million people from around the world visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace, and American tourists are a high proportion of these, so it’s a story of reverse pilgrimage which we hope will start new conversations across the States.”
