John Ayers will discuss the New Orleans charter school movement, the expectations for parents choosing schools, and how the system impacts healthy lifestyles, including daily biking and walk-ability, and cover examples of schools that promote wellness. He will also discuss the lack of system-wide efforts to address push-outs and drop-outs, and the health effects of disconnection.
Free and open to the public. Lunch provided.
