Located northwest of New Orleans, the Manchac Wetland is a true swamp consisting ofhundreds of acres of cypress trees and freshwater marshes. Here, foot travel is nearly impossible, as the land is neither permanently dry nor flooded. Luckily for us, the ancient bayou can be accessed by canoe, and is particularly scenic at night. On our moonlight paddle, we’ll encounter a variety of birds and learn the unique features of this wetland. Make sure to bundle up! Cost includes transportation, canoe rental, and dinner.
Register in Reily Member Services. Tulane students only.
