Telephone Counseling Available

In the aftermath of the tragic events of last week, the University continues to be concerned about both the physical and emotional well-being of all members of our community. As a service to all members of our community, we are making available Optum Care24, a telephone-based counseling service, to anyone in need -- including all students enrolled at Tulane. During this time, all members of our community who are in need, or anyone they refer, may contact this free service at anytime.

Care24 is a confidential, telephonic service provided by United Healthcare. Experienced counselors can assist anyone who has a personal concern caused by these tragic events. The counselors are well-qualified to help with problems such as anxiety and depression, and can assist in the grieving process. They also have access to a network of registered nurses and access to more than 70,000 community resources that offer a wide variety of services and support. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

To access Care24, call 1-888-887-4114. In addition, a hotline crisis number has been established for the general public at 1-800-667-8273.
