Building on its role as a national leader in public service, Tulane University has partnered with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and the Aspen Institute’s Franklin Project to launch a pilot program that will give recent graduates an opportunity to spend a year of service making a tangible difference within communities in New Orleans.

Tulane Professor, Shawn Loht brought his undergraduate ethics class to participate in the NOLA Trash Mob event on January 26. The group organizes volunteers who clean up a designated section of the city every Sunday.

Jessie Lingenfelter - New Orleans AmeriCorps member receives Rebuilding Together's Volunteer of the Year award
Margot Ferster, a 2011 Tulane graduate, was recognized as the Rebuilding Together's AmeriCorps Member of the Year at the organization's national conference in Washington, D.C. A two-year AmeriCorps member, Margot has also worked with Habitat for Humanity and is committed to preserving the architectural culture of New Orleans.

Fran Simon - Organization devotes a week to Cowen Service Challenge

During the first full week of January, Youth Rebuilding New Orleans will have dozens of volunteers in town from around the country working at various sites. As part of the organization’s partnership with Tulane University, Youth Rebuilding New Orleans will dedicate the entire week’s worth of volunteer hours to the Cowen Service Challenge.
