Sarah was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She received her bachelor's degree in Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (a lone Cardinals fan in Brewers nation), and after experiencing one too many frigid winters, chose to migrate south as soon as she received her diploma. After living in New Orleans for two months, Sarah decided to join Americorps as a way to meaningfully contribute to the community she was falling in love with. She now works as Communications and Development Coordinator at the Louisiana Center for Children's Rights, the juvenile public defender in New Orleans.
