Sankofa CDC needs for volunteer support are as follows: support with data and assessment collection; administrative assistance; coordination of youth tent at weekly Sankofa Farmers Market; site assistance and support at weekly Sankofa Farmers Market; assistance with a garden project located at KIPP Renaissance School; assistance with a ceramics project at KIPP Renaissance KIPP Renaissance School;
Working with Sankofa CDC would allow an opportunity for an enriching learning enriching, hands-on learning experience with a small, grassroots community development organization, with a variety of projects and programs with which the students can work. They will be able to directly see the results of their work and understand the various contributions they will make to the progressive development

Sankofa Community Development Corporation (Sankofa CDC) is a 501c3 non-profit organization which supports the sustainability and development of the New Orleans Lower 9th Ward neighborhood through projects that advance economic viability, community collaboration, health, education, and business infrastructure. Sankofa CDC considers these quality of life resources as vehicles for economic development within the Lower 9th Ward area and addresses these community needs through a number of diverse projects.
