Since 1834 when Tulane University was established by seven idealistic young physicians who were determined to make the City of New Orleans a better, healthier place, Tulane has been a powerful force in its community.

Today the traditions of reaching out to friends and neighbors continues through the university's Division of External Affairs. From helping alumni stay in touch to licensing technology developed by university researchers, to fundraising, strategic planning and communicating the university's accomplishments, External Affairs presents Tulane to the world.
