Merit Scholarships for Transfer Students

Merit Scholarships Currently Available For  Incoming Transfer Students
All transfer applicants are considered for merit aid based on their application for admission. Applicants with a 3.4 or higher college GPA in a rigorous curriculum including English, Math, and foreign language are most competitive for the Scholastic Advancement Award and Collegiate Achievement Award. The Phi Theta Kappa Advancement Award will be offered to all verified members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society who is not awarded another merit award, and it may not be combined with any other merit award,

These scholarships are being awarded to certain transfer applicants among those offered admission for the spring 2017 or fall 2017 semesters:

  • Scholastic Advancement Award For applicants from 2-year colleges No additional scholarship forms required $16,000 per year ($8,000 per semester)
  • Collegiate Achievement Award For applicants from 4-year universities No additional scholarship forms required $16,000 per year ($8,000 per semester)
  • Phi Theta Kappa Advancement Award For verified Phi Theta Kappa members No additional scholarship forms required $5,000 per year ($2,500 per semester) Note:  May not be combined with the Scholastic Advancement Award or Collegiate Achievement Award.

Students may not receive a Scholastic Advancement Award, Collegiate Achievement Award or Phi Theta Kappa Advancement Award in combination with any other Tulane merit scholarship, ROTC scholarship, Faculty-Staff Tuition Waiver, or Tuition Exchange Scholarship. Students may combine an award with a partial athletic scholarship. Students offered a merit scholarship may qualify for need-based aid. Students suspended from the university for honor of disciplinary violations will forfeit all remaining portions of any university merit scholarship they have been offered.

Older Merit Scholarship
The Phi Theta Kappa Achievement Award was last packaged for new incoming transfer students entering for the fall 2016 semester: Phi Theta Kappa Achievement Awards are merit-based scholarships offered by the Office of Undergraduate Admission to to admitted applicants from two-year college who are members of the  Phi Theta Kappa academic honor society. and is renewable through the receipt of the baccalaureate degree for a maximum of four years (five years for Architecture students) provided the student maintain a 2.700 cumulative grade point average and continuous enrollment in full-time undergraduate division.

Students may not receive a Phi Theta Kappa Achievement Award in combination with any other Tulane merit scholarship, ROTC scholarship, Faculty-Staff Tuition Waiver, or Tuition Exchange Scholarship. Students may combine an award with a partial athletic scholarship. Students offered the Phi Theta Kappa Achievement Award may qualify for need-based aid. Students suspended from the university for honor of disciplinary violations will forfeit all remaining portions of any university merit scholarship they have been offered.
