Information for Distance Learning Students

Degree seeking students enrolled in the Distance Learning program are eligible for Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loans as long as they are enrolled in at least 5 credit hours and/or a Practicum per semester. Students in this program are eligible for funds to pay for their tuition, fees and books, but not living expenses. The application procedures required for Distance Learning Students are the same as students who physically attend classes in New Orleans.

Students enrolled only in a certificate program are not eligible for federal student aid, but may be eligible for a private student loan.

Refer to How to Apply for the details for fall and spring aid.

Distance Learning students who are planning to enroll in the Summer semester and wish to receive financial aid will need to complete a 2018 Summer Health Sciences Addendum. For timely processing of summer aid, the addendum should be turned in by April 15, 2018, but the absolute deadline is June 15, 2018.
