Harassing Telephone Calls

If you receive a harassing or threatening telephone call on a campus telephone, please do not hang up. Instead, put the receiver down and use another telephone to call public safety at 865-5381 or 852-5200. If you are on the downtown campus, call 588-5555. As long as the line remains open, it is possible to trace the call and possibly identify the perpetrator.

We are not asking you to listen to any objectionable or frightening call. Once you are sure the call is inappropriate, please follow the procedure above. You must realize that once the receiver is hung up, our chances to find out who made the harassing or threatening call are greatly diminished.
