Tell us about yourself.  How did you come to Tulane?
I was born in Baton Rouge, LA and was drawn to Tulane University by the rich curriculum offered and the culture of New Orleans.

Present Day

What do you do?

What are some of the pros of your current position or role?
Tulane gave me a leg up in preparation for the rigors of medical school, especially with a great cadaver lab and lectures from medical school faculty. Undergraduate students rarely have a chance to have access to such resources.

Undergraduate Experiences

What did you study at Tulane?
I majored in Biomedical Engineering and minored in Studio Art.

What insights did you have as a college student?
The most important lesson I learned while an undergraduate at Tulane is that passion and genuine interest are the most important factors in determining the outcome of any endeavor.

What academic advice would you offer incoming students?
Initially while at Tulane, I was able to load up credit hours, but as the courses became more specialized I backed off a bit and enjoyed going into detail on each topic I studied. I highly suggest planning what advanced courses you intend to take by the end of your second year.

Discuss a class that had a significant impact on you.
Course Title: Team Design - Biomedical Engineering (BMEN4030)
This course was the most immersive course I have ever taken. It forced me to pool all my skills and exhibit them in the most practical manner.

Do you have any other recommendations?
Avoid undue stress - pursue what you like, and do it with vigor.

What do you wish you had known as a first-semester freshman?
I wish I had known that intense focus is more important than broad scope.
