Howard-Tilton Memorial Library is Tulane's main library. With over two million volumes, a million government documents, and hundreds of thousands of microforms, it is the area's largest library and a major regional cultural resource. In addition to its general collection, the Library supports Tulane's Latin American Library, the Maxwell Music Library, and a federal documents depository. It also serves as Tulane's gateway to electronic information resources, including databases and online journals, books, and newspapers. Many of these resources are available through the Library's online system, TULANet Voyager. In addition to providing online access to the Library's catalog, TULANet Voyager offers databases, indexes, abstracts, and entree to other libraries around the world. The Library also supports an extensive Special Collections Division, which resides across the street from the main library building in Jones Hall. Originally built in 1939 as Tulane's first Howard-Tilton Memorial Library, Jones Hall today houses the library's Hogan Jazz Archive, Southeastern Architectural Archive, Louisiana Collection, Rare Books, University Archives, and Manuscripts Department.
