Anne Dunlop, Associate Professor and Chair, History of Art
Anne Dunlop works on Renaissance and early-modern art and culture. Her research and teaching interests include early secular art and literature, the materials of art, and Europe’s relations with Asia and Africa in the Mongol era. She is the author of Painted Palaces: The Rise of Secular Art in Early Renaissance Italy (2009), and co-editor of Art and the Augustinian Order in Early-Renaissance Italy (2007). In 2012-13 she was a Senior Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts in Washington, DC. She was keynote speaker at the ANZAMEMS Conference in Melbourne, Australia, and she served on the International Evaluation Committee for Art History of the Israel Council for Higher Education. In 2013-14 she guest curated an exhibition, 'Early Modern Faces' held at the Newcomb Art Gallery.
