Dr. Joachim Von Puttkamer is a doctor, professor, and head of the Imre Kertsz Collegium for the Study of History of Central Europe, University of Jena. He came to Tulane to give a talk on March 4, 2013 about "Poland in 1989: Crisis and Transition."
From Feb. 17 - Feb. 18, the Tulane University Department of Jewish Studies held a conference featuring speakers from all over the world. The Keynote Lecture was by Zeev Sternhell who is a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Other speakers included Brian Horowitz, Michael Brenner, Esther Schor, Mark Steinberg, Dmitry Shumsky, William Brumfield, Maya Barzilai, Andrew Sloin, Michael Schlie, Nancy Sinkoff, Jason Dawsey, Taro Tsurumi.
