The Howard-Tilton
Memorial Library, located off Freret Street on Tulane University's
Uptown campus, is the University's main library and a major academic
and cultural resource. It is here that library services and resources
are provided to support Tulane's undergraduate and graduate programs
in the humanities, social sciences, and science & engineering.
The Library provides a gateway to growing numbers of digital resources
available campus wide on the Tulane network. In its main building,
and Special Collections in adjacent Jones Hall, it houses nearly
2 million print volumes, more than 7,750 current serials, nearly
a million government documents, more than three linear miles of
manuscripts, and hundreds of thousands of microforms, photographs,
sound and video recordings. Moreover, the Library is a meeting place
and a beacon for Tulane students and faculty seeking spaces for
group and individual study in an intellectually stimulating environment.
