Center Under Construction
(beginning January 2004)
For more than 40 years, the University Center (U.C.) has served
as the hub for extracurricular activities at Tulane University.
The renovation, reorganization and expansion will transform
the U.C. into a superbly functional center of campus services
and activities.
The new facility will provide a much needed increase in
meeting space (approx. 8,000 sq.ft.) along with updating of
student program space. In addition, areas for Dining Services
and the Bookstore will be improved to provide the type of services
the Tulane community has come to expect.
Designed by Vincent James & Associates of Minneapolis, Minnesota,
the new U.C. will see a 40,000 square foot increase and feature
a water wall and natural lighting throughout all levels of the
building.
The new Lavin-Bernick Center for University
Life is scheduled for completion January
2007.
