The judiciary in Louisiana doesn’t reflect the state’s gender or racial diversity, according to a new Newcomb College Institute report that finds the number of women and minority men serving as judges lags behind their representation in the population. Click here to view the report.

2017 Oak Wreath Application

Application due: 
March 13, 2017 at 5 p.m.

The Oak Wreath is bestowed upon a select group of senior women who have distinguished themselves through an engaged pursuit of learning, leadership in student activities, and contribution to the Newcomb/Tulane community.  A dinner will be held in honor of Oak Wreath recipients and a faculty member of their choosing who has positively influenced their college career on Tuesday, May 16. In addition, Oak Wreath recipients will be honored individually at the Under the Oaks Ceremony on Friday, May 19. Click on the link for the 2017 Oak Wreath Application.


Newcomb Summer Session: Women's Literature 
Application due: 
March 31, 2017

Newcomb College Institute is launching Newcomb Summer Session, a selective pre-college program in women's literature and leadership. Students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of high school will get a preview of the college classroom while forming a community centered on exploring gender through feminist texts that span 20th century modernism and 21st century multimedia. Learn more and apply here.
