Southern magnolia blooms are proof positive that summer is around the corner.

A Southern magnolia blooms outside of Jones Hall on the Tulane University uptown campus. Magnolias generally bloom in May and June making the milky white flowers and the sweet smell harbingers of summer wherever the trees grow.
