New Employee Orientation

New employees must complete training in the area of health and safety applicable to Tulane University. This may be accomplished either by attending one of the New Employee Orientation Sessions conducted by Workforce Management Organization (WFMO) or by completing the on-line training module, New Employee Environmental Health and Safety Orientation.

All employees must take Fire Safety Basics and EAP.

The required training for HAZCOM is CHEM101CBT; the required training for OSHA Formaldehyde is CHEM105CBT; the required training for Bloodborne Pathogens is CHEM103CBT.

Also, all employees with potential occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens or other potentially infectious material are required to receive training during new employee orientation. This training is mandated by OSHA in the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030) which was designed as a safety measure for workers at risk of occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens. In compliance with federal regulations, this training is required initially upon employment and annually if you continue to work in an at-risk position.
