Dr. Altiero oversees all aspects of academic life at Tulane and advises University President Michael Fitts on all academic matters. He works closely with the Deans of the Schools and Directors of the Research Centers and Institutes in pursuit of the University's core missions in research, art-making, teaching, professional service, and community engagement.

Ana Lopez

Ana's responsibilities include assisting the Provost on all faculty issues, including promotion and tenure, hiring plans, and recruitment. She serves as a liaison to the School of Liberal Arts, the School of Architecture, Newcomb-Tulane College, the Center for Public Service, the Stone Center for Latin American Studies, the H. Sophie Newcomb Memorial College Institute, and Student Affairs.

Tonette's responsibilities include assisting the Provost with issues as they pertain to the health sciences in general and to the School of Medicine, the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and the Tulane National Primate Research Center in particular.

Michael Cunningham

Mike is responsible for oversight of all graduate and professional studies academic issues, oversees the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, and he assists the Provost in the formulation of University research policy. He serves as a liaison to the School of Science and Engineering, the School of Social Work, the A. B. Freeman School of Business, the Law School, and the School of Continuing Studies, as well as the Murphy Institute.

Gabriel Feldman

Gabe works with the Provost and other members of the senior University administration to monitor, coordinate, and verify compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Conference USA, and University rules and regulations regarding athletic competition and related activities. In this role, he assists coaches, administrators, faculty, and students in maintaining the academic integrity of all athletic programs. 

Ann Salzer

Ann oversees the administrative operations of the Provost’s Office, and is the Chief of the Provost's Staff. She assists the Provost in planning meetings with the Deans’ Council, the Board of Administrators of Tulane University, and the general staff. She maintains the database on all faculty, updates the Faculty Handbook, and when necessary, acts as liaison to search advisory committees for senior academic leadership positions.

Meredith Smith

Meredith oversees and coordinates the University’s initiatives to sustain a safe climate for all University community members free from sexual harassment and sexual violence.  She also works to enhance the University’s efforts in outreach, education, communication, and prevention programs regarding sexual harassment, abuse, and assault.  Her primary duties include overseeing the response to Title IX complaints, including dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.  Meredith coordinates her work closely with Student Affairs, the Office of the General Counsel, and the University Police Department.

Alysia manages the budget and financial activities for the Provost's office. She is the financial liaison to all Schools, the University Budget Office, and the University Accounting Office. Alysia assists and supports the Provost, Associate Provosts, and Assistant Provost with planning and executing special projects and events. She also maintains the office website and supervises student workers.

Melissa Bender

Melissa provides primary administrative support for the Provost, including scheduling and travel planning, the routing of all correspondence, and managing interaction with all direct reports. In addition, Melissa oversees the Undergraduate Activities Fund and coordinates the process of academic personnel review.

Kathleen White

Kathleen provides administrative support for the Associate Provosts, Assistant Provosts, and the Director of Budget and Financial Affairs.  She assists with the day-to-day operations of the Provost’s Office and is the primary contact for conference room scheduling.  As the front desk manager, she greets visitors, directs phone calls, handles incoming and outgoing mail, and receives and tracks documents related to faculty appointment, promotion and tenure.

Kathryn Rabstejnek

Kat is responsible for the coordination and evaluation of university-wide faculty development initiatives. These efforts include the coordination of the NIH-sponsored BIRCWH career development program, facilitation of interdisciplinary interactions that foster faculty development and scholarly engagement, and identification of best practices and strategies for enhancing faculty development and scholarly activity.

Briana Mohan is a career advisor for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at Tulane.  She develops and conducts workshops and presentations for students pursuing both academic and non-academic career paths.  She also works with students in individual appointments on topics such as career exploration, skills and strengths assessments, job application materials, interview skills, and negotiation strategies.
