All incoming students must meet the general admission requirements for the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine listed at the Admissions Office site. Additional admission criteria for the academic programs offered by Department of Global Biostatistics and Data Science are listed below.
MSPH in Biostatistics Program
A baccalaureate degree with a B+ average is required. Courses in calculus and linear algebra are encouraged.
MS in Biostatistics Program
A baccalaureate degree with a B+ average is required. Courses in calculus are required. A course in linear algebra is encouraged.
PhD in Biostatistics Program
A master's degree in statistics or related field or 30 graduate-level credits in the disciplines of: statistics, biostatistics, bioinformatics, biological sciences, or related fields. A grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for graduate coursework is preferred. Courses in calculus are required. A course in linear algebra is highly recommended. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for outstanding students holding only baccalaureate degrees with the approval of the doctoral committee.
