Testimonies from Participants

Excellent! I worried about my bones for years and the wonderful staff at Tulane confirmed that I didn't have it! They also gave me info on how to prevent it. Thank You!

I think we should do what we can to help in the study of any science, that is the reason I participated and came away with knowledge about my bone structure that I hope will be useful in the future.

Appreciate the free bone scan as well as the $25.00 gift card. Thanks to Tulane University.

I am in my early 40's and the study was a great way for me to get a baseline measure of my bone density. It was very informative. The staff was friendly and efficient.

It was significant to help me realize the importance of adding Vit D to my diet and increasing the amount of calcium I needed. The visit didn't take very long and they kept to a tight schedule with no waiting. Everyone was knowledgeable and nice to work with.

Great opportunity to help the study on osteoporosis. Had a great experience. I learned a lot from the scan and all the staff. I gave out the flyers I got and spread the word to others. Thanks!

The scan was very detailed and receiving a copy of the results was great for showing my physician. Thanks for the opportunity to participate!

I took part in the study because a friend from the YMCA told be about it and my mother had osteoporosis. The staff was friendly and very efficient. I would very much like to participate in a follow up study.

I found the information helpful and brought it to my doctor for his records. I am in my 60's and wanted to know my risks and if I needed any type of medication or supplements to be sure my bones are strong. Great staff and the tests were quick and easy. Thank you Tulane!

Am glad to participate in studies like this. Thanks.

I was glad to have the opportunity to find out how my bones were doing, as my Dr. didn't seem to think it was necessary & it turns out I do have some bone loss I needed to know about. So Thanks, Also I found the experience to be pleasant and helpful. Loved having the results explained and given to me.

I found the Tulane Bone Study more thorough than any other testing I have had. I do have osteopenia and appreciated the extra information.

I am very glad I took part in this study. I learned about my bone health. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I recommend participation in this study to anyone who wants to learn about their bone health and to top it off, get $25.

Because I am 71 y/o , don't exercise, and eat butter and other high cholesterol foodstuffs with impunity, I wanted to know just how bad off I am. Fortunately, I'm almost normal, so I still have time to change. I will contact my sister because she is a smoker, has uncontrolled Graves disease and is overweight. Since she has no health insurance or Medicare it is very important for her to have this study.

My bones are in great shape as I expected because I 'made life altering change. i would love to have a follow up in 2 years when I am farther along in my diet and exercise.

What a wonderful opportunity! The staff was so efficient and polite. Having the information and explanation of the results was a plus. I was able to bring that information to my Primary Care Physician.

Thank you and also for the gift card.

The Tulane Bone Study was very enlightening for me since I have one arm with osteopenia and the other normal. Makes one realize that it is important to perform weight bearing activities for each part of the body. My sister and I participated and we both have the opportunity to reverse some of these effects.

This was extremely beneficial to me because I have had bone problems in the past and I now have no insurance. The staff was cooperative and efficient. It saved me hundreds of dollars. The scan report is very impressive. I now have a Primary Care Nurse under LSU Medical Center and she has a copy of it for my records. I am fortunate to have heard about this on the noon news broadcast. Thanks for making this available to the public. I have told everyone I know about it. I also bought a much-needed telephone for my home and it is just what I needed, but I did without it until the complimentary gift card.

This was an easy decision to get a free bone scan. It was quick, easy and pleasant staff and environment

This is a great study. I highly recommend it.
