Public Health Practicum

The practicum is an opportunity for students to integrate and apply the skills and knowledge that they have acquired through their coursework or prior experiences in a professional public health work environment. Students who are admitted to this distance learning program often have extensive experience that may be applied toward fulfilling this requirement. In such cases a practicum may be fulfilled by current or prior work experiences. In this event a waiver must be submitted that demonstrates the practicum waiver has been satisfied. A practicum typically requires a student to work a minimum of 200-400 hours in a relevant public health application situation.
