Ali Talan is a DrPH student in the Department of Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences and the Research Operations Supervisor at the Los Angeles LGBT Center. She has experience in program design and evaluation, with a focus on sexual health practices among LGBTQ youth and is currently supervising research projects examining: substance use and HIV progression, PrEP uptake and adherence  in the transgender community, and STI treatment and medical device testing.. She also has experience in program implementation in medical school education. Her research interests focus on risk behaviors during adolescence and the transition into adulthood. Shes is mainly interested in health disparities in sexual minorities, HIV prevention, and the relationship between mental and sexual health.
