Personal Statement:

My interests and experience have focused on quantitative and qualitative research methods used in evaluation of health programs in the areas of HIV prevention and treatment, reproductive health, substance abuse programs, and resiliency programs both in New Orleans and sub-Saharan Africa. I spent four years working for a research and evaluation firm in New Orleans where I gained valuable experience working with local organizations implementing public health programs in the city post-Katrina. This presented opportunities to use various evaluation methodologies and work with a diverse group of public health practitioners. I also have interests in the data demand, quality, and use in developing countries and worked with the Amhara Regional Health Bureau in Ethiopia in 2013-2014. I am currently working with the MEASURE Evaluation project, USAID Global Health Bureau's primary vehicle for supporting improvements in monitoring and evaluation in population, health and nutrition worldwide.
