Bio:

Julia Fleckman is a PhD candidate in the Department of Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences. She also currently works as the Lead Research Associate for a CDC-funded randomized controlled trial aimed at reducing risk for child maltreatment through brief, universal parenting interventions. Julia received her Master of Public Health from the University of Texas School of Public Health at Houston. She has experience in prevention and implementation sciences with a focus violence prevention, parenting behaviors, and early childhood  and adolescent development. Her current research focuses on the development of primary prevention strategies to reduce risk for child physical maltreatment, understanding social norms relevant to child physical maltreatment, and exploring potential interpersonal and community protective factors to promote parent and child well-being.
