The Department of Global Environmental Health Sciences (GEHS) strives to equip students with the knowledge and skills to accomplish the following:
- Apply scientific principles in toxicology, industrial hygiene, global environmental health (resource management and environmental health in developing countries), policy, oncology, and disaster management to prevent, detect and mitigate environmental public health problems and threats locally and globally
- Conduct research for innovative solutions to environmental health issues
