Personal Statement:

My research interests focus on diet, nutrition and cardiovascular disease risk, with special emphasis on the prevention and etiology of coronary heart disease, stroke and diabetes mellitus type 2. I also have a strong interest in clinical epidemiology, specifically trials of interventions where the outcome is primary or secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases, obesity and diabetes.
