Dr. Stranova received his Doctor of Science (ScD) and his Master of Health Administration (MHA) degrees from Tulane University and his undergraduate degree from Tufts University where he majored in History while also earning a Certificate in Community Health. Prior to joining the Tulane faculty, Dr. Stranova held leadership positions with New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System and Tulane University Hospital & Clinic. Dr. Stranova also has experience in health care policy, having spent several years as a policy analyst for Paralyzed Veterans of America, a non-profit advocacy group in Washington, DC. His research has focused on the organizational relationships, structures, and leadership of healthcare organizations, in particular academic teaching hospitals and their associated medical schools. More generally, Dr. Stranova's interests lie in applying organizational theory and strategic management principles to strengthen both domestic and international healthcare systems, to improve the quality of healthcare provision, and to assist organizations in identifying strategies that will help reduce health disparities in the communities they serve.
Dr. Stranova also serves as the School's Associate Dean for Student Services.
