Rubber hits the road

Tulane faculty and staff volunteers work to clear lots in New Orleans' Central City neighborhood for the 2013 Wave of Green Day of Service on Monday, April 1.

The School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine was well represented at the service day, with most of the SPHTM faculty and staff working with the United Saints Recovery Project in the Central City neighborhood of New Orleans on projects ranging from clearing out abandoned lots, to picking up trash throughout the neighborhood, to painting projects to beautify the neighborhood.

Aside from a few sunburned foreheads and arms, the day was filled with good times and good work. The community was appreciative and several home owners and residents came out and worked side by side with Tulane staff and faculty.
