Will I receive a certificate or card upon completion?
Yes. You will receive an ATLS completion certificate and a wallet sized card, in addition to a CME certificate. Be sure the spelling of your name on your registration form matches your desired spelling on these certificates.
How big are the classes?
ATLS Provider courses at Tulane are limited at 24 students and Refresher courses are 16 students, based on the order of completed enrollment (registration and payment).
Is there an ATLS book? How should I prepare?
All Provider and Refresher students will receive the 9th edition of the ATLS Student Manual in order to prepare for the course. The cost of this manual and standard shipping is already included in registration.
How can I be sure I'm enrolled in the course I selected?
Upon receipt of a completed registration form and payment, students will be emailed a confirmation that they are enrolled in the course date they selected.
What should I expect from the course?
All enrolled students will be emailed a Welcome Letter that will include all the information needed for the course date, including, times, course location, etc. Courses will include light breakfast and lunch and beverages throughout the day.
What if I need to change my course date?
Changes to enrollment done prior to 2 weeks before the course date will be accepted with no fee. Changes to course dates made within 2 weeks of the enrolled course date will require a 15% late fee to secure a new date. Please contact Jared at email@example.com or 504-988-7266 to make any changes.
What if I need to cancel my enrollment?
Cancelations to enrollment made prior to 2 weeks before the course date will be accepted. Cancelations made within 2 weeks of the enrolled date will be charged a 25% late fee (only 75% of the registration fee will be refunded). What if I am a no-show for my enrolled course?
Cancelation due to no-show on the course date will not receive any portion of their registration as a refund.
How do I know if I qualify for a Refresher course?
The Refresher course (1/2 day) is really an update course for any student who has already successfully taken the 2-day Provider course. A refresher must be taken prior to the 4 year expiration on ATLS certification or within the 6 month grace period. 4 years and 6 months after the Provider course date is the maximum time allowed. After this date, students will need to repeat the full 2-day Provider course. ATLS ID number must be provided at registration, as previous course dates must be confirmed.
