Mission Statement

Thank you for your interest in the Tulane University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Categorical training program

Our Mission Statement
Mission Statement The Tulane Obstetrics & Gynecology Program has been developed by our own residents. That is to say that decisions regarding the program overall, specific rotations, and applicant rank order list are done with resident involvement as equal partners. Thus, we match well-rounded individuals who not only want to obtain outstanding clinical experience and training, but individuals who are team members and want to make a difference. Our residents make a difference in education and service to our patients. You can obtain good residency training in many programs. However, the satisfaction of delivering healthcare to the underserved of New Orleans with the same skill offered by the best medical facilities in the world makes our program unique among the others. People need us in New Orleans and we enjoy caring for them. The people of New Orleans rely upon the Charity Hospital system and care from our residents.

We believe in fostering women's health. We believe that all women deserve the best in healthcare as well as the social support to function in the family. It is often the woman who has the greatest responsibilities to her family, leaving her own healthcare for last.

We train our residents to be responsible in all aspects of their career… and we do this with a system that augments autonomy and independent decision-making. Tulane is about generating academic leaders in Obstetrics & Gynecology as well as outstanding practitioners of the specialty. In our program you have the choice upon his or her graduation. Research prowess, educational excellence, clinical distinction, and development of leadership skills are our promise.

We created this web site to give you a better feel of our program and what is it like to be a Tulane Obstetrics & Gynecology Resident in the culturally unique city of New Orleans. Please take a second to read the messages from our Residency Directors, Dr. Gabriella Pridjian and Dr. Chi Dola. From there, move on to learn more about our program including our scheduling system, salaries, and other vital statistics. Be sure to visit the resident life section where you can get the dates of all upcoming festivals and get some recommendations on where to spend your free time in New Orleans.

From any page in our web site you can access our contact page that will provide you key telephone numbers, emails, and addresses. Before leaving check out our resident's site for current events, TGIF schedules and other academic and recreational resources.
