Pathology Masters of Science Program - Highlights

Welcome to the home of Graduate Studies in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine! The objective of the graduate program is to provide students with opportunities to study the cellular and molecular mechanisms of human diseases through didactic teaching and research training. We have developed two Master of Science (MS) programs, which are designed not only to enhance the academic credentials for individuals wishing to pursue a career in a health-related science, but also to ease the transition to medical/graduate school.

Additional program highlights include:

  • Clinically relevant instruction by world-class faculty.

  • High-level interactions in a learning environment fostered by clinical and research faculty.

  • Instruction in the use of cutting-edge technology (including "omics") in pathology.

  • Choice of one-year (Molecular Medicine) or two-year (Molecular and Cellular Pathobiology) program.

  • Opportunity and choice for research experience in the one-year program.

  • Multiple fields of research in pathology including: bioinformatics, molecular genetics, cancer, virology, immunology, hepatology, cell biology, gastroenterology and pulmonary. (View recent department publications)

  • Attendance in weekly departmental seminar series with presentations by world-class faculty and invited speakers.

  • Participation in weekly departmental research conference discussing current research advances.

  • Personal consultation on medical school application from faculty.

Applications to the program can be submitted online at https://www.applyweb.com/tulane/
