Interests:
Presently, Dr. Vaughn is the Assistant Director for the Quality Start Mental Health Consultation program and assists in the program evaluation and research for Quality Start, a statewide initiative focused on improving the quality of child care centers. Dr. Vaughn has provided mental health consultation to childcare centers in the Shreveport and New Orleans area. She currently supervises mental health consultants across the state. Dr. Vaughn co-led the social-emotional portion of the 2011 Louisiana State Workforce Knowledge and Competencies for Early Childhood Educators Task Force. Additionally, Dr. Vaughn provides clinical supervision to counselor interns seeking licensure as professional counselors and she serves on the board for the Louisiana Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors. Dr. Vaughn received training in play therapy through the Louisiana State University Allied Health Play Therapy Clinic and graduated from the Association of Play Therapy Leadership Academy, where she has served on the Key Award Committee for the association for several years.
