Your Surgery Clerkship is an eight-week rotation, split into two one month General Surgery Service. I am positive that this time in your medical education has been eagerly anticipated by some, and feared by others. It is our sincere hope, however, that you will have not only gained new and useful knowledge after your 2 months with us, but that you will actually have enjoyed yourself and had some fun.
Your first day on your rotation is a half day of lectures followed by rotating between stations of knot tying, suturing, laparoscopic skills training, OR orientation and foley cath insertion, etc... at the SIM Center. The second day of your rotation is a TEAM course (a mini ATLS for students course) and continuing lectures. The lecture test will be based on the first two days of orientation.
