How to Apply?

We review applications thoroughly, with particular interest in candidates demonstrating motivation, personal character and commitment to excellence.

To be eligible for selection, applicant must:

  1. Be in good standing/graduate from an allopathic medical school in the U.S. or Canada that is accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or

  2. Be in good standing/graduate from an osteopathic medical school in the U.S. or Canada that is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (OAO) or

  3. Be in good standing/graduate from a medical school outside of the U.S. or Canada who meets the following qualifications:

    • Be a U.S. citizen or

    • Be a non-U.S. citizen that does not require Visa sponsorship

We use a rolling interview offer process.  Completed applications will be reviewed in the order they are received and interviews will be offered accordingly.  Applications are considered complete when the following documents have been received. 

  • ERAS Application
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • USMLE Scores Part 1
  • Medical School Transcript

For ranking, USMLE Part II Score and a Dean's letter are required but they are not required to be considered for an interview.

The Tulane General Surgery Residency participates in the National Resident Matching Program:
