Congratulations to seniors Cody Beam, Jessica Quebedeaux, and Ashley Kester did their Practice School project with Valentine Chemicals and won best Chemical Engineering presentation at the 2017 Spring Engineering Design Expo. They subsequently presented their project at the Tulane engineering Forum.

Chemical engineering students from Tulane University in New Orleans received hand-on training April 27 at Nunez Community College's on-campus industrial technology distillation plant. 2017 marks the fourth year that Nunez and Tulane have worked collaboratively to offer this learning experience to students at both higher education institutions.

Congratulations to junior Dena El-Giar, recipient of the SWE Monsanto Scholarship  spring 2017

Dena El-Giar

Chemical engineering junior, Dena El-Giar, was selected by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) for the 2017 Monsanto Scholarship. SWE's mission is to stimulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity. The Monsanto Scholarship recognizes undergraduate engineers for demonstrating outstanding academic achievement as well as strong engineering potential. Dena was awarded a scholarship of $1000 and SWE membership through 2018.
