SCALA 2017 : Scientific Computing Around Louisiana

March 17-18, 2017

Tulane University's Center for Computational Science and the LSU Center for Computation and Technology (CCT) will co-sponsor the eighth Scientific Computing Around Louisiana meeting. The goals are to:


(1) highlight cutting-edge topics in scientific computing,

(2) showcase the research at Louisiana institutions and,

(3) promote collaborations across the state of Louisiana.


This meeting is open to any faculty, post-doctoral researcher or student from any college in and around Louisiana. The meeting will start Friday at 1:00 p.m. and run through approximately 5 p.m. Saturday. All talks will take place in Stanley Thomas Hall, Room 316 (Building 10 in this map)

INVITED SPEAKERS:

  1. Tamara G. Kolda, Sandia National Labs, Livermore, CA
  2. Ridgway Scott, Computer Science and Mathematics Departments, University of Chicago

REGISTRATION:
  Contributed talks are now being solicited. Registration is FREE, but required.

The registration form is available here.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE:  February 3, 2017 (early submissions encouraged).

The scientific program with more meeting information will be posted during the week of February 27.

The block of guest rooms will be held until 02/15/17. Guest room reservations are to be made by individually calling 504-899-9990 and requesting the SCALA Conference group rate at the Hampton Inn – Garden District (coded SCA in the reservations computer) and the dates. Reservations can also be made by clicking this personalized web link. All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card and must be made no later than 02/15/17. Any request received after 02/15/17 will be handled on availability only.


PARKING: 
For those who will need to park at Tulane on Friday, March 17, please request a parking pass on the Registration page.  Parking near Tulane's campus will not be a problem on Saturday, March 18.  The hotel is about a 10 minute streetcar ride from Tulane's campus.
