The Center for Computational Science (CCS) has announced that Earth and Environmental Sciences Ph.D. student, Jianwei Han, was awarded a $4000 fellowship for his work in computational science. Twelve fellowships of $4000 each are given every year to graduate students working on projects which involve scientific computing and mathematical modeling.
Jianwei was awarded the IBM computational fellowship for his work on integrating orographic precipitation and vegetation cover processes into the Channel-Hillslope Integrated Landscape Development Model (CHILD).
Jianwei is member of the Surface Processes Group under the guidance of Assistant Professor, Nicole Gasparini.
