Our annual Clifford Lectures is featuring a week long series of lectures on Computational and Analytical Strategies in Nonlinear Time-Dependent Problems by Professor Eitan Tadmor from the University of Maryland.
The lectures will be accompanied by the 2007 Clifford Conference Nonlinear PDEs: Analysis, Numerics, and Applications. Most participants are being housed at the Quality Hotel & Conference Center, 2261 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA.

Computational and Analytical Strategies in Nonlinear Time-Dependent Problems
Abstract: The development of new analytical strategies combined with novel computational techniques have become one of the fundamental tools of investigation of nonlinear Partial Differential Equations. Numerical methods have not only complemented the theory, but they expanded its scope by altering the kind of questions being asked.
These lectures will provide few examples for the interplay between analytical and computational strategies in nonlinear convection-dominated problems and how to realize the underlying nonlinear phenomena through 'faithful' numerical simulations.
