Dean's Message – Winter 2013

Winter 2013 | Nicholas J. Altiero, Dean

Nicholas J. Altiero, Ph.D.As we approach the end of another calendar year, I would like to wish all of you a very happy holiday season and thank you for your strong support of the Tulane School of Science and Engineering this past year. Since the establishment of the School in 2006, we have reached out to all Tulane alumni who majored in a science or engineering discipline. It has been challenging establishing the identity of this new School among these more than 27,000 alumni but I believe that we have made tremendous progress. One measure of this progress is the number of alumni and friends who have targeted their Tulane Annual Fund gift to the School. That number has grown significantly each year and, this past year, was more than 5 times what it was in the first year of the School’s existence!

Again, thanks to all of you who have made this growth in our Annual Fund possible. If you have not yet made your Annual Fund gift to Tulane, I ask that you consider directing it to your School of Science and Engineering. As you can see from the articles in this and past Newsletters, you can rest assured that your investment will be put to good use. Wishing you and yours a healthy and fulfilling 2014.
